The best of our 3 weeks in Italy. A perfect setting for relaxation and exploration of the surrounding treasures: Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and of course, the local scene. The service has been unobstrusive and efficient (thank you to the lady who kept our room so clean), the food enjoyable and the ambience memorable. From the moment we arrrived we felt "at home", which is very hard to find in big hotels around the world. Congratulations on creating and maintaining such a legendary establishment. We take away fond memories of our Sorrento sojourn.

"Horace" once said: "caelum ipsum petimus stultitia". "We seek the sky itself in our stupidity".The Excelsior Vittoria has proved the great poet wrong. It has succesfully achieved near- perfection with a seemingly minimal effort. The calm, tranquillity, the friendliness all hark back to Emperor Augustus' villa all those centuries ago. He, having brought peace to a divided Roman state, retired here, and it is difficult to fault his choice of location. May the Excelsior Vittoria carry on this proud tradition.

I first came to visit this ethereal part of Italy 9 years ago and stayed at the Grand Excelsior Vittoria. It was wonderful then, I am back again and the magic and ambiance is unchanged, many of the staff are still here, like me they have grown older but they are still so helpful and courteous. The food, service, hotel, perfect. This touched my heart. I will leave a little part of me behind when the time comes to depart and may I take a little part of you away with me. Come back again, I will but I won't wait another 9 years, my time is running out, sadly. Thank you also very much for such a very super-relaxed holiday-time in warm and gentlile surroundings. Thank you Excelsior Vittoria, our stay at the hotel for our second time to Italy, was even better than the last! The views from the terrace alone are worth staying here for! The staff were warm and friendly, the food great, so good we will be on diets next week! We have enjoyed our stay so much, each trip you see more but always find more to see. A place where dreams can take flight again. We explored Pompeii and Herculaneum and the Archeological Museum in Naples and marvelled at glorious wall decorations. Then returned each day to this "Beautiful Villa" to find this ancient tradition of "wall-painting" occurring before our eyes. Excelsior Vittoria, with its charming graceful people, is not just a place to sleep - "But a place to dream".

Well, we only had one day here but it's enough to know we will be back. The staff are very friendly and helpful (made long distance phone calls to track down my lost knapsack at a gas station).
